Snow Shield Rock Salt, 50 lb Bag

Snow Shield Rock Salt. Snow Shield rock salt is straight, coarse rock salt in a 50 pound bag: the fast, economical way to melt ice on driveways, walkways and steps. Coarse crystals bite into ice quickly and give traction while they work. For homes with pets, concrete that is less than a year old or landscaped edges, look at our Snow Shield Pink, Blue Emperor or Sugar Mag blends instead.

Details

• Bag size: 50 lb
• Formulation: coarse sodium chloride rock salt
• Best for: driveways, walkways, steps, parking areas
• Use: residential and commercial

Best for

• Driveways and walkways
• Steps and porches
• Small parking areas
• Keeping a bag in the truck for the first storm

Good to know

• Spread thin and even; more salt does not melt faster.
• Rock salt loses effectiveness below about 15 degrees Fahrenheit; keep a calcium chloride product on hand for the coldest nights.
• Sweep up leftover salt once the ice is gone so it does not track inside or run onto the lawn.
